Need Blind scholarship is a form of scholarship that is awarded by forty-eight universities in United states but only eight of these universities make this offer available to international students from any part of the globe. Unlike merit based scholarships that are awarded by numerous universities in and outside the United States, Need Blind scholarship is extremely NEED BASED. What this means is that scholarships are awarded on the basis of inability to pay!

Consider this scenario; an applicant after fulfilling all requirement necessary for admission, fills the financial aid form and submit before deadline. The senate of the universities after looking through his financial aid application realizes the applicants can only afford to pay $500, though school fee (which usually includes accommodation) is $43,300. The applicants will be required to pay $500 ONLY! i.e ($43,300-$500) 42,800 is given as grant!

Basic Requirements

Applicants are required to have the basic requirement necessary to grant them admission in their native country. Applicants who had their high school education not taught in English Language will be required to take the TOEFL examination.

In addition to the basic requirement, applicants are required to take the United States entrance examination i.e the SAT 1, two subjects related to field of major in the SAT 11 and a non refundable fee between $60-$80 which varies will the universities.

What if I can’t pay for amount accepted to pay even after the grant?

Some universities do have the minimum fee expected of applicants to pay but even in such instances most of these schools make provision for jobs on campus in other for these applicants to be able to pay up the required amount expected of them.
